Tradition and pride in our community are hallmarks of Corning Specialty Care. Our staff and residents are familiar faces from around the area, so giving and receiving top-notch quality care and loving respect are at the core of Corning Specialty Care.

Nestled in the rolling hills of Southwestern Iowa, we are located on the north side of Corning in Adams County, Iowa. Surrounded by a large yard, our legacy building features elegant colonial architecture in a country setting.

We take pride in our dedicated professionals most of whom have a long history of working at our facility. From our outstanding nursing team and the best nursing assistants around to our state-of-the-art therapy department, our residents and patients receive top-of-the-line medical care. Many patients who would otherwise spend weeks in a hospital recovering from an illness or injury prefer to spend their rehab time in our more homelike setting until they are ready to return to their own home. A short-term stay with us gets people home quickly, stronger and more prepared to live a better life at home.

We understand the importance of being active in the community, and opportunities for socializing are essential to continuing a healthy, happy life. Corning Specialty Care makes sure to offer a wide variety of activities ranging from relaxing on our front porch to enjoying our aviary and aquarium. We also offer more active pursuits such as socializing in small groups and big events like our community-wide Easter egg hunt, grill-outs and parties. We are fortunate to host many entertainers who come to share their music or other talents with us.

The folks in our dietary department are very proud of the meals they serve. 

Corning Specialty Care is a 54-bed skilled nursing facility offering rehabilitation services, skilled nursing care, long term care and hospice care. It is owned and operated by Care Initiatives, Iowa’s largest not-for-profit senior care provider.  Corning Specialty Care accepts Medicare and Medicaid. A senior housing complex, Cottonwoods Estates, is next door to our skilled nursing facility. We have six apartments available. Monthly rental fee includes cable and utilities.
