Lawr earns specialized hospice nursing certification

Amy Lawr with Care Initiatives Hospice has earned distinction as a Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse (CHPN®).

Lawr received her LPN from Southwestern Community College in 2004 and her RN in 2007. She joined Care Initiatives Hospice in 2014. “I had worked in home care and was drawn to hospice to be able to provide additional services to patients and families during the end of life.” Lawr said.

Team Director Nikki Walker says achieving the CHPN® credential shows a commitment to expert hospice care. “To be CHPN® certified demonstrates professional commitment to safe, ethical and evidence-based hospice care. Amy is a caring and compassionate hospice nurse and I’m very proud of her accomplishment.”
