New London earns 5 star rating

New London Nursing and Rehab Center has received a five-star rating from US News and World Report ranking the care and rehab center as one of the top care facilities in the state. The ranking is based on information obtained by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and based on overall performances in health inspections, nurse staffing ratio and quality of care.

New London Nursing and Rehab Center was one of 24 percent of the nursing facilities in Iowa to receive a five-star rating.

US News and World Report identifies five-star nursing facilities using the following sources of information:

Health Inspections – The health inspection rating contains information from the last 3 years of onsite inspections, including both standard surveys and any complaint surveys.
Staffing – The staffing rating has information about the number of hours of care on average provided to each resident each day by nursing staff.
Quality Measures (QMs) – The quality measure rating has information on nine different physical and clinical measures for nursing home residents.

“Being recognized on a national level for our dedication to excellence brings great pride to me and our staff here,” says Administrator Jens Lee. “We set our standards high to serve our residents and community with the care, dignity and respect they deserve.”
