Penny Williams Chosen as Care Initiatives’ Employee of the Year

Penny Williams Employee of the Year Award

Penny Williams, business office manager and certified nurse assistant at Chariton Specialty Care, has received the Employee of the Year Award at Care Initiatives’ annual award brunch Friday, Dec. 15 in West Des Moines.

The Employee of the Year Award is given to a nominated employee who best demonstrates the company’s Mission Statement: Improving quality of life for Iowans and their families during life’s health transitions through compassionate, individualized care.

Administrator Selena Humphrey nominated Penny for the award. She wrote, “Penny proves that there is no “I” in the word “team”. She not only works as our office manager but she is also a CNA and will pick up shifts wherever needed.”

“She takes a leadership role in orientating new staff from start to finish and emphasizes that we are a team here and that it takes everyone to be successful,” Humphrey said.

“She is very efficient and accurate in her work and daily tasks.  She is always giving 100 percent. She possesses great judgment skills and is confident in the messages she relays to others.  She is enthusiastic and has fun when working with the team. She is not afraid of new systems and is eager to learn and improve.  She focuses on improving quality of life for each resident by showing compassion and follows up on concerns made from staff, residents, families and visitors.”
