  • Avoca Specialty Care earns national quality recognition

    January, 2019 – Avoca Specialty Care has earned the American Healthcare Association’s (AHCA) 2020 Quality Initiative Tier 4 Recognition. Skilled nursing facilities that have achieved four out of four of the established quality initiatives dedicated their efforts over the past year to achieve the following improvements:

    • Safely reduced long-stay and short-stay hospitalizations by at least 10 percent since Q1 2017
    • Achieved customer satisfaction of 90 percent or more

  • Atlantic Specialty Care earns national quality recognition

    January, 2020 – Atlantic Specialty Care has earned the American Health Care Association’s (AHCA) 2020 Quality Initiative Tier 4 Recognition. Only 66 skilled nursing facilities out Iowa’s 439 achieved this level. Skilled nursing facilities that have achieved four out of four of the established quality initiatives dedicated their efforts over the past year to achieve the following improvements:

  • Residents benefit from community gifts

    Mechanicsville Telephone Company & Bridge Community Bank put up "angel trees" in their buildings. Then the community members of Mechanicsville provided a gift for every single one of our residents! On Christmas Eve they delivered the gifts during lunch. This was such an amazing and generous act we are extremely grateful. Thank you so much to Tera and everyone at the telephone company and bank!   • Diana Stowe Earns Work as a Team Award

    Diana Stowe, Business Office Manager (BOM) for Eldora Specialty Care and Valley View Specialty Care, has received the 2019 Work as a Team Award at Care Initiatives’ annual awards brunch Friday, Dec. 6 in West Des Moines.

    Stowe joined Eldora Specialty Care in 2000 and has excelled ever since. She became the business office manager of Valley View in 2017. Being a business office manager is a lot of work, but to take on two facilities serving as the linchpin for each team is quite a feat.
