Care Initiatives is expanding its commitment to improving resident health and quality of life by ensuring every skilled nursing facility now has access to a wheelchair-accessible transport van.

With the delivery of new vans to its remaining locations, each of Care Initiatives’ forty-three skilled nursing care communities now has the ability to provide reliable transportation for residents. This investment supports access to medical appointments, community activities, and safe transitions to and from care settings.

“Transportation has been one of the most important needs we’ve heard from our residents, families and team members,” said Jessica MyDyer, Chief Operating Officer for Care Initiatives. “By ensuring every location has a dedicated van, we are removing barriers to care, increasing opportunities for connection and independence, and providing greater peace of mind for those we serve.”

The new vans will help bridge gaps for residents who need transportation to specialist appointments or other health care providers outside of the facility, while also supporting greater participation in community outings and activities.

Each van is equipped with accessibility and safety features, including a wheelchair ramp, helping ensure comfortable and safe transportation for all riders.

This latest investment builds on Care Initiatives’ ongoing efforts to enhance the resident experience by improving access, convenience, and overall quality of life across its communities. New transportation capabilities also support smoother transitions for incoming residents traveling from hospitals or other care settings.
