Fonda Specialty Care has achieved a deficiency-free state survey for the second year in a row, demonstrating the team’s continued dedication to providing quality care and services to residents.

A deficiency-free survey means state surveyors found zero deficiencies during their annual inspection and confirmed that Fonda Specialty Care is meeting or exceeding all state and federal requirements in the areas of resident care, services, and environment. Earning this designation is a significant accomplishment, and achieving it consecutively underscores the team’s consistent commitment to excellence. State surveys are unannounced and often conducted over several days, during which surveyors observe resident care, review records, and interview residents, family members, and team members.

“To achieve a deficiency-free survey is an outstanding accomplishment, but to do so two years in a row truly reflects this team’s unwavering dedication to high-quality, compassionate care,” said Jessica McDyer, Chief Operating Officer for Care Initiatives, the state’s largest nonprofit skilled nursing provider and owner-operator of Fonda Specialty Care. “This recognition demonstrates a shared commitment to the people who matter most, our residents. This team ensures our residents feel safe, supported, and engaged every day.”

Fonda Specialty Care is licensed to provide care for up to 46 residents from Pocahontas County and surrounding communities. The team is committed to enhancing residents’ quality of life through personalized care, daily programming, and meaningful social and recreational activities that promote physical health, mental engagement, and overall well-being in a welcoming, home-like environment.
