WEST DES MOINES, Iowa (May 13, 2025) — Fonda Specialty Care is celebrating a deficiency free state survey and recognizing their team members for their commitment to quality care.
A deficiency free survey means state surveyors found zero deficiencies during their annual inspection and confirmed that Fonda Specialty Care is meeting or exceeding all state and federal requirements in the areas of resident care, services, and environment. This designation is rare and comes after a rigorous process where state agencies conduct unannounced surveys, often over the course of several days, to observe resident care, check all records, and interview residents, family members and team members.
“To achieve a deficiency free survey takes a collective effort and really demonstrates this team’s commitment not only to providing quality care but ensuring residents have engaging activities, feel safe, and have an environment where they can thrive,” said Jessica McDyer, Chief Operating Officer for Care Initiatives, the nonprofit owner of Fonda Specialty Care.
Fonda Specialty Care is licensed to provide quality care to up to 46 residents, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Serving individuals from Pocahontas County, Iowa, and many surrounding communities, the dedicated team provides Fonda Specialty Care residents with an active and engaging quality of life through daily programming, social and educational activities, and services that promote physical health, provide mental stimulation, increase engagement and help residents thrive in a home-like setting.
