Care Initiatives Hospice welcomes new Team Director

(April 8, 2019) Chyann Vroegh, RN, BSN, has joined Care Initiatives Hospice as the Team Director for the Albia location. In her role as Team Director, Vroegh will oversee a team of a registered nurses, hospice aides, spiritual care and bereavement counselors, social workers and devoted local volunteers. The Albia Office serves patients and families in Marion, Mahaska, Keokuk, Lucas, Monroe, Wapello, Jefferson, Wayne, Appanoose, Davis and Van Buren Counties.

Back in the Saddle

For Ray Taylor of Ottumwa, it was horses that brought out the best in him as a kid, even in the toughest of times. On Tuesday, July 31, he was able to regain that sensation one more time with help from staff of Care Initiatives Hospice in partnership with Victory Ranch.

“Growing up, Ray had a pretty tumultuous childhood,” said Social Worker Jacque Heiter, a member of the Care Initiatives Hospice staff who has been working to make his final wish a reality.

Albia held its annual Victorian Christmas December 5. Downtown windows are decorated with an old fashioned twist in the era of Scrooge. Care Initiatives Hospice also got in on the act.
