July, 2018 - Lantern Park Specialty Care in Coralville has been named to the National Nursing Home Quality Care Collaborative Honor Roll to recognize its performance on the Nursing Home Compare long-stay quality measures. Nursing homes on the Nursing Home Quality Collaborative Honor Roll have achieved a quality measure composite score which is aligned with the top 10 percent of nursing homes in the U.S.

Lantern Park Specialty Care in Coralville received a 5-star ranking throughout 2017 in quality measures in skilled nursing facility from  the federal government’s Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

Administrator Kari Gerst says the caring environment the staff provide every day is the reason for their success.  “Our staff make the difference. They are diligent, compassionate caretakers who put our residents first.”

     For more than 30 years, Lantern Park Specialty Care has partnered with Goodwill of the Heartland to assist in creating job opportunities for people with barriers to independence. For 26 of those years, Lois Hahn, supervisor of laundry and housekeeping at Lantern Park, has provided those opportunities and supervised dozens of adult workers of all ages as they developed their skill set.
