Manly Specialty Care welcomes new administrator

(June, 2020) Kayla Gomez has joined the staff at Manly Specialty Care as Provisional Administrator. She brings with her years of experience working in a variety of roles in skilled nursing care and a wealth of knowledge.

Manly Specialty Care receives state’s highest ranking

(December, 2019) Staff at Manly Specialty Care are celebrating a perfect survey administered by the Iowa Department of Inspections and Appeals. They received zero deficiencies.  There are 439 nursing facilities in Iowa. This is the second consecutive year.

Generally, only 5 percent are found to be deficiency-free.

Manly Specialty Care is one of Iowa’s top skilled nursing providers

Nursing homes are highly regulated and must adhere to hundreds of standards and regulations. , There is one nursing home locally that continues to provide a high level of care and service and meet every regulation.. In the most recent state inspection and survey (October 2018) administered by the Iowa Department of Inspections and Appeals, Manly Specialty Care received zero deficiencies.  There are 412 nursing facilities in Iowa.

Monica Meyers, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and Certified Medication Aide (CMA)  Specialty Care, has received the Employee of the Year Award at Care Initiatives’ annual award brunch Friday, Dec. 7 in West Des Moines.

Natalie Leewright chosen for Care Initiatives’ Be Consistent Award

Natalie Leewright, cook at Manly Specialty Care received the Be Consistent Award at Care Initiatives’ annual award brunch Friday, Dec. 7 in West Des Moines.

Leewright joined Manly Specialty Care in 2008 at the age of 16. “She is a shining star,” said Administrator Kimber Kleven. Rarely missing work, Leewright knows every aspect of the kitchen, every residents needs and preferences and is able to fill in when needed.

Leewright is the driving force behind the consistent practices that she and her coworkers have developed.

Manly Specialty Care receives top national rating

Manly Specialty Care received a rating of 4 out 5 in the U.S. News & World Report 2017-18 Nursing Home Finder report released last month. The report uses existing federal nursing home rating information and federally reported health care data to come up with their own rating system. Criteria such as annual state survey results, medical quality measures, staffing levels and rehabilitation outcomes are all formulated to reach the rating. More than 15,000 skilled nursing facilities in the United States were reviewed.
