Southridge Specialty Care earns national quality recognition

January, 2020 – Southridge Specialty Care has earned the American Healthcare Association’s (AHCA) 2020 Quality Initiative Tier 4 Recognition. Only 66 skilled nursing facilities out Iowa’s 439 achieved this level. Skilled nursing facilities that have achieved four out of four of the established quality initiatives dedicated their efforts over the past year to achieve the following improvements:

Southridge Specialty Care makes national honor roll

July, 2018 – Southridge Specialty Care in Marshalltown has been named to the National Nursing Home Quality Care Collaborative Honor Roll to recognize its performance on the Nursing Home Compare long-stay quality measures. Nursing homes on the Nursing Home Quality Collaborative Honor Roll have achieved a quality measure composite score which is aligned with the top 10 percent of nursing homes in the U.S. 

Southridge Specialty Care rated 5 stars

Southridge Specialty Care in Marshalltown received a 5-star ranking throughout 2017 in “Quality Measures” for a skilled nursing facility from the federal government’s Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

Administrator Charissa Baedke says the caring environment the staff provide every day is the reason for their success.  “Everyone on our staff works diligently to ensure the best care and environment for our residents and their families. It’s our caring staff who make the difference.”

Bassett joins Southridge Specialty Care

The staff and residents of Southridge Specialty Care in Marshalltown welcome Charissa Bassett as Administrator.

Bassett has been serving as administrator at Avoca Specialty Care for the past four years.

“I’m thrilled to join the Southridge team, and to be back home doing what I love,” Bassett said.

Residents watch as Activity Director performs

Through the miracle of modern technology, the residents of Southridge Specialty Care in Marshalltown got to watch on Facetime as Activity Director Erin Scott performed at the opening of a winery in Erin's home town in Missouri. Southridge CNA shines at national conference

Sylvia Ebot, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Southridge Specialty Care in Marshalltown received the National Association of Health Care Assistants’ (NAHCA) Professional Style Award on June 2 at NAHCA’s national annual conference held in Des Moines.

 

The Professional Style Award is given to a CNA or direct caregivers who set the standards for appropriate duty apparel.  They dress for success and display pride in their work through their professionalism of dress and appearance.
