Mechanicsville Specialty Care Earns Deficiency Free Survey

March, 2020 - Nursing homes are highly regulated and must adhere to hundreds of standards and regulations. There is one nursing home locally that continues to provide a high level of care and service and meet every regulation. In the most recent state inspection and survey administered by the Iowa Department of Inspections and Appeals, Mechanicsville Specialty Care received zero deficiencies. This is the second consecutive year for rating. 

Residents benefit from community gifts

Mechanicsville Telephone Company & Bridge Community Bank put up "angel trees" in their buildings. Then the community members of Mechanicsville provided a gift for every single one of our residents! On Christmas Eve they delivered the gifts during lunch. This was such an amazing and generous act we are extremely grateful. Thank you so much to Tera and everyone at the telephone company and bank! And thank you citizens of Mechanicsville for donating the gifts!

Mechanicsville Specialty Care makes national honor roll

July, 2018 – Mechanicsville Specialty Care has been named to the National Nursing Home Quality Care Collaborative Honor Roll to recognize its performance on the Nursing Home Compare long-stay quality measures. Nursing homes on the Nursing Home Quality Collaborative Honor Roll have achieved a quality measure composite score which is aligned with the top 10 percent of nursing homes in the U.S.

Mechanicsville Specialty Care receives Bronze National Quality Award

Mechanicsville Specialty Care has been recognized as a 2018 recipient of the Bronze – Commitment to Quality Award for its dedication to improving the lives of residents through quality care. The award is the first of three distinctions possible through the National Quality Award Program, presented by the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL).

Mechanicsville Specialty Care selected for national quality recognition

Mechanicsville Specialty Care has been selected for the American Health Care Association (AHCA) Quality Initiatives Recognition Program. The Quality Initiative Recognition Program honors AHCA-member skilled nursing centers that demonstrate the attainment of four or more of the following AHCA Quality Initiative goals: 

Tiffney Deerberg Earns Serve Others Award

Tiffney Deerberg, certified nurse assistant at Mechanicsville Specialty Care, received the Serve Others Award at Care Initiatives annual awards brunch Friday, Dec. 15 in West Des Moines.

The award is given to a Care Initiatives employee who embodies the company’s core value to compassionately serve others and their needs as defined by them.
