Suprised by biking

Six years ago, I watched as my grandson got his scout cycling badge for riding on RAGBRAI, on the way to getting his Eagle Scout. Seeing this I decided to get into cycling myself. So after not riding a bike for 40 years, I decided to make an attempt at riding across the state of Iowa in a week.

That story is a long one, and for another day, however I want to share one of the best days at work I have ever had. 

Montezuma Specialty Care makes national honor roll

July, 2018 - Montezuma Specialty Care has been named to the National Nursing Home Quality Care Collaborative Honor Roll to recognize its performance on the Nursing Home Compare long-stay quality measures. Nursing homes on the Nursing Home Quality Collaborative Honor Roll have achieved a quality measure composite score which is aligned with the top 10 percent of nursing homes in the U.S.

Montezuma Specialty Care selected for national quality recognition

Montezuma Specialty Care has been selected for the American Health Care Association (AHCA) Quality Initiatives Recognition Program. The Quality Initiative Recognition Program honors AHCA-member skilled nursing centers that demonstrate the attainment of four or more of the following AHCA Quality Initiative goals: 

Montezuma Specialty Care rated 5 stars

Throughout 2017 and into 2018, Montezuma Specialty Care has been ranked as a 5-star skilled nursing facility by the federal government’s Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). Skilled nursing facilities are rated quarterly based on health inspections, staffing and quality measures of 11 different physical and clinical measures of residents.

Montezuma Specialty Care also received a rating of 4 out 5 in the U.S. News & World Report 2017-18 Nursing Home Finder report in November, 2017.

Montezuma Specialty Care receives top national rating

Montezuma Specialty Care received a rating of 4 out 5 in the U.S. News & World Report 2017-18 Nursing Home Finder report released last month. The report uses existing federal nursing home rating information and federally reported health care data to come up with their own rating system. Criteria such as annual state survey results, medical quality measures, staffing levels and rehabilitation outcomes are all formulated to reach the rating. More than 15,000 skilled nursing facilities in the United States were reviewed.

Montezuma CNA earns national leadership award

Jackie Hudnut, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Montezuma Specialty Care received the National Association of Health Care Assistants’ (NAHCA) Excellence in Leadership Award on June 2 at NAHCA’s national annual conference held in Des Moines.

 

The Excellence in Leadership Award is given to a CNA who show outstanding support of the “team approach” and provides quality resident care, and one who also stands out as a leader.

 

Montezuma Specialty Care Passes State Survey with Zero Deficiencies

Montezuma Specialty Care is pleased to announce that it has received a “Deficiency Free” result on its annual survey in September by the Iowa Department of Inspections and Appeals.
