State Center plans to celebrate each day of National Nursing Home Week

National Skilled Nursing Care Week is May 10-16. Here is our planned schedule:

Sunday May 10 -  Mother’s Day, Marlene will be passing out flowers. To kick off National Skilled Nursing Care Week, please dress in yellow.

Monday May 11 - Polka Dot Day- Wear anything polka dotted and Dip n Dots for lunch.

Tuesday May 12 - Hawaiian Day - Wear anything Hawaiian Themed and fruit kabobs at 1pm.

Wednesday May 13 - Purple Day- Wear anything Purple and purple plant potting at 10am.

State Center Specialty Care receives top national rating

State Specialty Care received a rating of 4 out 5 in the U.S. News & World Report 2017-18 Nursing Home Finder report released last month. The report uses existing federal nursing home rating information and federally reported health care data to come up with their own rating system. Criteria such as annual state survey results, medical quality measures, staffing levels and rehabilitation outcomes are all formulated to reach the rating. More than 15,000 skilled nursing facilities in the United States were reviewed.

State Center Specialty Care receives highest rating fourth year in a row

For the fourth year in a row State Center Specialty Care has earned a “Deficiency Free” result on its Iowa Department of Inspections and Appeals annual survey.  There are 412 nursing facilities in Iowa. Generally, only 5 percent are found to be deficiency-free.

State Center Specialty Care Named “Best Nursing Home”

(State Center, IA – December 12, 2016)  State Center Specialty Care was named a “Best Nursing Home” by the U.S. News & World Report 2016-17 Nursing Home Finder report released last month. Nursing homes are eligible to receive this distinction if they score between a 4.5 and 5.0 on a 5.0 scale. According to the report, State Center Specialty Care received a perfect 5.0 rating and is recognized as a “Top Rated Nursing Home.”  The report uses existing federal nursing home rating information and federally reported health care data to come up with their own rating system.

State Center Specialty Care has received a “Deficiency Free” result on its annual survey in June by the Iowa Department of Inspections and Appeals. This is the third consecutive year the facility has achieved the highest ranking.
