    Kristopher “Butch” Nitz has joined Care Initiatives as the Director of Facility Management and Capital Planning. He brings with him decades of experience in construction and leadership.

    Born and raised in Nebraska, Butch attended Central Community College in Hastings and received a degree in architecture. After graduating, he joined the Army and for 4 years served in the Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Operations.

  • Care Initiatives Hospice - Sioux City see success with winter clothing drive

    SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) – A local clothing drive has started to drop off items for Woodbury County children to have during the winter.

    Care Initiatives Hospice finished their first-ever winter clothing drive on Sunday and began to deliver those items to one of two locations around Siouxland.

    “Some families can’t afford a coat, or maybe their child ruined a coat or grew out of it, and they were only budgeting for one coat. It was good to be able to have these later in the winter season, so they have the option for another coat,” said Megan Julifs, Care Initiatives Hospice....

  • Community rallies to make seniors’ spirits bright

    (CEDAR RAPIDS, December 2020) Celebrating the holiday season looks much different than past years. However one thing remains the same – the holiday spirit. This was made evident to the residents and staff at Heritage Specialty Care in large part due to the Cedar Rapids Police Department and the Linn County Attorney’s Office.
