Belle Plaine CNA shines at national conference

Nora Miller, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Belle Plaine Specialty Care  received the National Association of Health Care Assistants’ (NAHCA) Stella Parrish Lifetime Achievement Award on June 2 at NAHCA’s national annual conference held in Des Moines.

 

NAHCA is a one-of-a-kind organization that supports professional caregivers who are considered to be the backbone of health care and its heart and soul. With 40,000 members throughout the US, NAHCA supports the professionals who provide 90 percent of the care for residents in skilled nursing. 

Eldora CNA earns Rookie of the Year award

Angela Lewis-Wagner, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Eldora Specialty Care was named the National Association of Health Care Assistants’ (NAHCA) Rookie of the Year at NAHCA’s national annual conference held in Des Moines on June 2.

The CNA chosen for this award must be will have completed one year of service as a CNA with above-average attendance and a positive attitude in all areas.

Dubuque CNA earns national award for quality of care

Kathy Weipert, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Dubuque Specialty Care was named the National Association of Health Care Assistants’ (NAHCA) Restorative Care Professional of the Year on June 2 at NAHCA’s national annual conference held in Des Moines.

 

Southridge CNA shines at national conference

Sylvia Ebot, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Southridge Specialty Care in Marshalltown received the National Association of Health Care Assistants’ (NAHCA) Professional Style Award on June 2 at NAHCA’s national annual conference held in Des Moines.

 

The Professional Style Award is given to a CNA or direct caregivers who set the standards for appropriate duty apparel.  They dress for success and display pride in their work through their professionalism of dress and appearance.

 

Crestview CNA earns national leadership award

Katherine Davis, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Crestview Specialty Care in West Branch was named the National Association of Health Care Assistants’ (NAHCA) Preceptor of the Year at NAHCA’s national annual conference held in Des Moines on June 2.

The CNA chosen for this award must have successfully trained new nursing assistants and is a dedicated mentor with qualities such as patience, compassion, knowledge of job skills, nurturing attitude, positive outlook and good communication skills, which are necessary for effective instruction.

Montezuma CNA earns national leadership award

Jackie Hudnut, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Montezuma Specialty Care received the National Association of Health Care Assistants’ (NAHCA) Excellence in Leadership Award on June 2 at NAHCA’s national annual conference held in Des Moines.

 

The Excellence in Leadership Award is given to a CNA who show outstanding support of the “team approach” and provides quality resident care, and one who also stands out as a leader.
