Hospice Care

(Des Moines) I am so grateful for your help, support and guidance in helping my aunt in her final journey. Several times during the process I thought I was fine, but then found you there to lean on when I wasn't fine. I feel good about how my aunt was helped in her final weeks. The care she received was so much better with your involvement. It is a relief to know she isn't in pain and to really feel settled that her care was excellent. 

I am writing this letter to express my gratitude and to recognize Mechanicsville Specialty Care in Mechanicsville, IA, one of your Care Initiative care centers. My mother has been a resident there for over 9-1/2 years. She has Alzheimer's and is currently on hospice care. 
The staff is not only professional and skilled, they are caring, patient and compassionate. They give their smiles freely and can calm and reassure my mother in her confusion and anxiety. When I have visited her through the window (since COVID) I have seen my mother look up at a staff member with the look of a child seeking guidance and direction and I am convinced they are her family. The staff has changed in those 9-1/2 years but I have come to know many of them very well and they are part of my family too. 
Everyone ... are to be highly commended for their dedication in the past and heroic efforts during the COVID 19 Pandemic! I also recognize and praise the entire Care Initiative Hospice team. How reassuring it is that I can trust they are caring for and protecting my mother in such a loving way. Isn't that what anyone would want for their loved one? 

Thank you for all your (Care Initiatives Hospice - Greenfield) help with our mom. She enjoyed everyone that came and helped take care of her and just ...talked to her. She was always smiling when Ashley came. So with everything that you guys helped with, even help(ed) Dad out, we send this donation in mom's name to help with whatever needed. Mom would (have) wanted us to do this. So again, thank you very much.

It’s obviously difficult and scary to think about a loved one’s time coming to an end, but for my family, it came down to the comfortability and helping my grandma feel loved in her final days. I didn’t know a lot about hospice until this point and that made me really nervous, but we had someone by our side from Care Initiatives through every step. They were very knowledgeable and answered every question with compassion. My family never felt alone, and I think it takes quality people to achieve that. I couldn’t have asked for better people to have at our side.

I love how all you Hospice caregivers are so involved with your patients and families. Caring for our loved ones, keeping us updated and explaining what is going on. I feel so much better for Dad that you are there for him. Supporting him, answering his questions, giving him someone to talk to that is knowledgeable about what is going on with Mom. 

These people are wonderful. They moved quick when we needed them and made the last few days of my fathers life as peaceful as they could. Thank you.

...our thanks and appreciation for all that you, each in your own way, did to help H***** be more comfortable, physically & emotionally, these last 13 months. Especially thank you for your perfect timing on his 'last wish' outing. 

Dan was a resident from January, 2013, until June 11, 2016. He received wonderful care throughout that time, as did his wife who passed in December, 2013. Dan transitioned to the care under Care Initiatives Hospice in April, 2016. As his family, we were thoroughly impressed by the extraordinary, compassionate care provided by your entire team for Dan as well as for us. We thank all of you for what you do with such grace.
